Teen Banned Bookclub

For our October meeting, we will be discussing The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This book was banned and challenged from numerous schools for profanity, violence, and for promoting an anti-police message and indoctrination of a social agenda. The Fraternal Order of Police chapter in the South Carolina town of Mount Pleasant said the book is "an indoctrination of distrust of police and we’ve got to put a stop to that."

Ages 13-17. The Banned Book Club meets once a month on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. We will be meeting in the Tech Hub for this meeting. This is a drop-in program. Please contact cys@bellevillelibrary.ca for inquiries into this program.
