Paws For Reading

At Paws for Reading, kids read aloud to a St. John Ambulance therapy dog (and her handler) in our 1st Floor Program Room. These dogs are the best and most patient listeners – perfect for helping young readers feel comfortable and confident.

For beginner and reluctant readers ages 5 to 10.

Thank you to St. John Ambulance volunteers (four-legged and their humans) for offering this paw-pular program!

No-Show Policy: We greatly value the time and commitment of our volunteer handler–dog teams, and it is challenging and disappointing when reserved spots go unused. If you register for a session and do not attend or provide advance notice of cancellation, you will not be permitted to register for future sessions.

Upcoming Dates

All reading sessions are 15 minutes, between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. To register for a 15 minute session, email cys@bellevillelibrary.ca or call (613) 968-6731 ext. 2035. One session per child each month.
