Since humans appeared on Earth, people have probably looked at the night sky and wondered if we were alone in the universe and if life exists elsewhere. This presentation explores that fundamental question by describing current and past searches for extraterrestrial life, the various organizations conducting them, the tools used and the results to date. The results so far have been exciting but have not yet answered the fundamental question of whether we are alone. Major breakthroughs are possible in coming years and the search is likely to be even more exciting than it has been. Everyone should stay tuned!
